Visit of Latvia´s president at LEAX Baltix in Rezekne
On Thursday the 28th of May 2009 there was a lot of commotion in the city of Rezekne in eastern Latvia. This due to the fact that the city was visited by Latvia´s president Valdis Zatlers. The whole city had prepared for the president´s arrival. The president managed to see quite a lot during his day in Rezekne and one of his planned visits was the LEAX Baltix factory. The visit was planned to last for about 30 minutes, but lasted 60 minutes as the president showed a great interest for LEAX Baltix production.
"The president was very interested of the cleanliness and mentality of order and tidiness that has been implemented in the factory. He was also very proud of the fact that the factory has been built with consideration to the environment, has a heating system with soil heating and with its own cleaning plant for sewage"says Peter Luberts, Managing Director for LEAX Baltix.
The visit ended with a general discussion regarding the economical situation in the country, infrastructure and LEAX Baltix´s plans of increasing the sales of mechanical parts to Russian companies. During the visit Gints Jacuks, Production Manager LEAX Baltix Rezekne, Roger Berggren, CEO LEAX Group and Juris Guntis Vjakse, Rezekne city mayor attended.
