The agreement between ABB and LEAX Group is signed regarding the purchase of ABB Mechanical Workshop in Ludvika
ABB and LEAX Group AB last Friday signed an agreement regarding LEAX purchase of the ABB-unit Assists Mechanical Workshop in Ludvika. The Workshop works with machining and has a turnover at 120 MSEK.
”The industry fits very well in our growth strategy and the Mechanical Workshop will be integrated with the rest of the group. The customers belong to our prioritised customer segment”, says Mr Roger Berggren, Managing Director LEAX.
The acquisition means that the hole mechanical Workshop and its assets passes to LEAX Group. The part of the Mechanical Workshop that will stay within ABB is the Paint shop.
The formal take over of the Mechanical Workshop take place by the end of October 2005. The Mechanical Workshop will be named LEAX Components. All employees is offered to stay within LEAX. Workshop will stay in Ludvika, but be moved to new premises.
LEAX Group has 300 employees in Köping, Västerås and Riga. The group is a contract manufacturer that provides vehicle-, power generation and construction and mining industries with mechanical and electromechanical products. The group also provides consultancy within quality-, environment- and management systems through LEAX Quality. The turnover for 2005 will gain approximately 370 MSEK.
