More effective processes at LEAX through restructuring in production
In order to get through the past financial crises that hit the whole industry business we at LEAX were forced to start rethinking and becoming even more creative in our ways. By using methods within business reengineering a first step has been taken by restructuring a large part in our production.
An area of 850 sqm has been made available for this at one of our production sites at Nya Hamnvägen in Köping. A big restructure has been made with both existing machines and with new investments in order to build up new production flows for shafts to the heavy commercial vehicles industry.
These new production flows have been built within the Lean concept where focus has been on creating good effective flows in order to minimize lead times, optimize cycle times and improvements of capability have been made to increase the quality. To make this possible investments have been made for around 10 MSEK, all efforts made in order to strengthen our future competitiveness and to further strengthen our technical skills. The driveline products that will be produced here are amongst the most complicated ones in a driveline when it comes to complexity.
