LEAX takes over assembly and painting equipment for axles with heavy applications

Press release 2009-02-03

LEAX in Falun has today agreed with Scania to take over the assembly equipment and paint shop for axles with heavy applications. LEAX will keep and adjust one of three assembly lines and keep the paint shop for axles in its present condition.

“We have despite existing recession and financial uncertainty a positive view of the future, so it feels very good to keep large parts of the installed assembly and painting capacity in Falun”, says Hans Jansson, President for LEAX Falun. “In short term the taking over doesn’t affect the number of notices given, but we hope that this can create new jobs in the future as there in the long term is a need of assembly and painting on the market.”

“It feels very good that LEAX continues to further develop in Falun. I’m convinced that the paint shop is an industrial asset which will strengthen LEAX in Falun and give possibilities to new interesting business” says Scania´s plant manager Anders Williamsson when commenting upon this.
