LEAX Group is expanding in Sweden and in the Baltic Region
LEAX is developing its largest market segment which is components for vehicles by taking over parts of Scanias production in Falun. LEAX Falun will produce powertrain products such as propeller shafts, drive shafts, yokes and companion flanges. LEAX will take over the production step by step under 2007 and will have approximately 120 employees.
-The establishment in Falun will give us possibilities to grow and is a good complement to our other sites within the area of components for commercial vehicles, says LEAX President, Roger Berggren. Our future aim is even to expand our business in Falun.
Since 2003 LEAX has had their own production in the Baltic Region, more preciously outside of Riga in Latvia . In the Latvian site semi finished products are produced for further manufacturing in Sweden such as bearing rings and gear wheels. LEAX Baltix also produces finished products such as shafts with and without splines and heat treatment. The factory in Latvia has today 110 employees.
At the moment the next establishment is planned 250 km east of Riga in Rezekne.
-The Rezekne site is to be our link towards Russia and Ukraine and we hope to eventually buy raw material from these countries. We also see a big market potential in these countries in the future, says LEAX President Roger Berggren.
