LEAX do Brasil established in Araucária
For about two weeks ago Roger Berggren, CEO of LEAX Group, and Hans Jansson, President of LEAX Falun, visited LEAX do Brasil, in Araucária, Curitiba, in Brazil. LEAX do Brasil established in Araucária
Swedish multinational automotive parts manufacturer LEAX chooses Araucária to install its first establishment outside of Europe. After nearly nine months of studying the Brazilian market of what would be the most strategic location for the installation of the production unit in Brazil, the president of LEAX Group, Roger Berggren announced on Monday (28/11) to Mayor Albanor Zeze Gomes, that Araucária was chosen to host the first subsidiary in America. According to Berggren, the choice stood between the region of Curitiba and São Paulo, with its proximity to Brazil's automakers Volvo and Scania, which are the company's main customers. "Brazil is a growing market where LEAX will be closer to their customers," says Berggren.
"We are very happy with the choice of hosting LEAX do Brasil in Araucária. We will assist the company in all that is needed, including the availability and qualification of manpower assured the mayor Zeze.

To start operations LEAX rents a building located at Rua Francisco Galarda, the Industrial Center of Araucária (CIAR) and has already hired 11 employees, including two engineers who are in training in Sweden. "By February we intend to complete the installations and equipment assembly, so that on March 21st we can open and start the production," explains Bernardino Sena, Purchasing and Finance manager of LEAX do Brasil. LEAX has already designed the expansion of the Brazilian unit, including the construction of its own office in 2012, also in Araucária. It is estimated to employ 150 workers when it reaches full production.
