Today Wednesday the 11th of June 2008 is the day of the Grand opening of LEAX Baltix Rezekne in Latvia.

 

Already in year 2005 we saw that our factory in Pinki, outside of Riga in Latvia, would not have the capacity to meet our customers’ needs in the future. We also see Russia and other CIS countries as an increasing market opportunity and we have had good experience of doing business in Latvia. Rezekne has an old industrial tradition and is strategically placed in the junction point of Latvia. We feel confident that this next step in our expansion will further enable us to meet our 200 MEUR turnover target by 2012.  

 

Facts about the Rezekne site:
• Production area 3000 m2 + 1500 m2 in 2009
• General machining such as cross cutting, turning and milling
• At the moment there are 38 employees at LEAX Baltix Rezekne

 

 

LEAX Baltix in Rezekne is built in order to have the least possible influence on the environment. The heating of the buildings and water is made by soil heating. By this we decrease our CO2 emissions with ninety per cent compared to conventional heating by gas in Latvia. Ninety per cent of the electricity consumed in the factory comes from hydro power. All waste material is recycled and we purify all sewage water directly on site. Year 2012 one of our goals is to minimize the environmental influence through: keeping a linear flow from the material source through manufacturing to delivery in order to further reduce the emissions of CO2.

 

 

For our Swedish customers LEAX Baltix is an integrated part of our services. We are within the LEAX Group inspired by the cost effectiveness in LEAX Baltix and we are happy to be compared to our competitors. Our aim is to deliver the shortest lead time in the business to start of production and with continued excellent service thereafter. We offer a rare cost effective contract manufacturing of machined rotation symmetrical components and sub systems in high series.

 

LEAX Baltix in Rezekne and Pinki are created for cutting edge manufacturing with a specialization on shafts, bearings, clutch collars from blanks of tubes and forgings, wear parts and drill bits. Competence and cost effectiveness makes LEAX Baltix just as suitable as a producer of short as long series with unique or standardized units. Customers that contract LEAX Baltix get their products faster and to a lower cost than with their own production. We succeed by offering extremely agile production methods that are optimized and continuously further developed.
