While many Swedish Companies transfer manufacturing to Asia for cost effective manufacturing, the Swedish GenerPro succeeds with the opposite; to become a successful manufacturing partner to one of the largest generator manufacturer, Japanese TOSHIBA CORPORATION.
The partnership has been developed during four years to a close cooperation between GenerPro and TOSHIBA that is targeting the European Power Market .
Local manufacturing capabilities are important in that strategy. GenerPro fulfilled the requirements well as being one of few independent manufacturing partners in power industry. During these four years GenerPro has manufactured first parts, then components and finally complete power generators in a formalised step-by-step TOSHIBA certification procedure.
- It is an important step for the future cooperation that the first complete power generator is manufactured successfully. Next step will be to further develop the generator and manufacturing processes towards serial manufacturing. This cooperation has created large expectations for all of us, says Mr Gösta Hesslow, President GenerPro.
- The Workshop in Västerås is unique in its kind with the high quality machine capacity and high skilled personnel. We find such cooperation to strengthen our positioning in the European Market, says Mr Hiromichi Ito, Chief Engineer Generator, TOSHIBA.
The first complete TOSHIBA generator for the European market is now manufactured and ready for delivery.
A ceremony to celebrate this successful cooperation and the delivery of the first generator will take place the 23rd of June at GenerPro, Västerås.
